When guitarist/vocalist Son Seals became Alligator Records’ third signing, he was 31, an unknown artist who had just moved to Chicago’s South Side. With his gritty, impassioned voice, absolutely searing guitar playing, and intense, original songs, Son emerged as one of the premier bluesmen of his generation. He cut eight fiery Alligator albums.
